A week might be ok in some circumstances but I generally stick to a 3 day rule. Sorry man but I think you might've screwed up.

I think yo may have waited too long, i usually dont follow the "3 day rule" because almost every guy does that. I like to catch women off guard by texting her the same night with "This is me by the way" and then text her the following day with something funny such as "aliens are coming to abduct all the sexy ass people today! youre safe but i was texting to say goodbye" and keep on from there. make texting her a part of her life that way when you guys dont text she will feel weird. (pf course also catch IODs while texting) if it comes down to worst on to the next woman.

I don't usualy follow any rulle but waiting one week is denifetly too long.
Sometime I text her the next day and hell sometimes if im drunk enough i text her once i get home.It CAN work but really following a rule is stupid.

It's all about the vibe you get.1-2 days works like a charm for me.

You gotta show at least some interest at some point otherwise you scare her and make her think you're somekind of a player. That's not really a good move.

Well, to be honest, this was the wrong move. Never text a girl asking how she's doing unless she's your girlfriend. You have to text her something that makes her want to respond. Usually this means texting her something funny.

Btw, what are you guys talking about when you say the OP waited a week? From what I can tell he only waited 2 days... that's fine.
