We don't know you and haven't seen you in the field. Have you got a decent wing? They can probably tell you what you're doing wrong...
In this particular instance, I completely agree with Peb -- the entire example/post you created this thread about is how you were 'dumb' this time.
You HAD to have known you don't cover up a sleeping random in a library... And when she got creeped out after THAT, you HAD to have thought to yourself "ok that may have been a bit much... I probably shouldn't do anything else - like asking her if she'd like to check out the back seat of my car for a nap.... Even though she's never met me before and she may think that's kind of strange and that I may have plans involving chloroform"

Above is how she'd have interpreted it. It's how a normal person would interpret that situation.

) .After that she starts excusing herself , repeadetly and next thing you know one guy ( I fortunately already knew ) isolates me and tells me I am scaring her . Another guy comes over and gives me back the jacket .
