I work in a supermarket/grocery store whatever you wanna call it and basically im trying to capitalise on the opportunities I have in regard to talking to HB customers that come in. I have no problem approaching the girls because I can simply ask them if they need help with anything, which is an easy way to start a conversation. BUT after whatever they say, I dont know how to steer the conversation towards personal non work related topics so it just dies out there. so does anyone have any advice on this? should I then ask an opinion opener after ive initially opened them with the 'can i help you?' also if anyone can link me to any good topics on transitioning from the opener in general that would be great!
Thanks
Rokkettzz

'Can I help you?' is not an opener, it's doing your job. If you really want to open girls when you're at work do it right away. Then you don't have to worry about changing the convo from work to personal stuff, because you're already in it.
Good luck!
