Or maybe she's just talking about herself?

Sometimes a girl will (what seems to me) try to impress me by saying she's volunteered so and so place and she is trying to go back to school blah blah..

Once you've DHV enough and teased her enough, will girls try to impress you like this and is that what qualifying is?

Or are they maybe just talking about themselves and I'm wrong about this (trying to clear up what qualifying is).

Once you've demonstrated higher value, yes, she will most probably try to qualify herself in some way.

But there could be instances when this is only her rambling about her life. It all comes down to whether or not your grabbing her interest.
