The "I guess" line is an IOD. You need to reframe pronto. Or change the subject. But if you must continue on the model thread, I would suggest some sort of disqualifier.

Something like, "I thought it was weird though because she doesn't really look like the type who would be a model"

It could go in multiple directions from there. Make sure you don't frame it as an insult (i.e., "people who look like you aren't model material"), just try to get her to qualify herself to you.

Personally I would try to re-frame this interaction as soon as possible. You started out fine with your first line, but you really telegraphed too much interest by implying that she looks like a model in a magazine. When it comes to trying to spark a texting conversation I usually try to IOD at first and then gauge her response and go from there. For the next time you text a girl, maybe start it like this:

You: Omg I just saw your twin

or conversely

You: You just popped into my head. Now stay out of there

The first one is more of an IOD than the second, but if you want to telegraph some interest (which it seems like you do), do it in a more subtle or cocky-funny way.

As for re-framing this interaction, I think you've put yourself in a difficult situation. I would usually suggest sending an IOD here, but there isn't much you can do. If you say you were looking at a nerdy magazine that might help or if you were looking at a magazine that includes something that she told you she doesnt like that might lighten the conversation. I don't think that you've lost your chance, you just need to reframe asap.

try not to focus so much on a girls looks, try more to get her to like you as a person, demonstrate that you like her a person via showing interest in her for things besides how she looks, and show a sexual interest in her (let her know she makes you horny, not necessarily by directly stating it)
