Ok, I have never been in this situation before. I have been on one date with this chick, went quiet well. I have know her for a couple of months before that. That was last Sat night, but today she had an operation. Now, she is gonna be home the entire two weeks and she just text me and in her texts she said shes in pain and the drugs are not really helping.

Now, I am thinking of going over tomorrow and seeing her at her place with some flowers and a card and some books/dvds. Make her laugh, give her some company, play a game or two and then bugger off home. I know, it seems desperate, but the gut tells me to do it.

I really need a third empire review on this.

Soundz like a good idea to me... maybe you can get the card signed by some friends, if you have any in common.

I like your idea of books/a card. If you want to make her laugh I'd read her the three little pigs and exagerate the story like you would to a 5 year old, eg: huffing and puffing, running your fingers up her arm and make funny squealing pig noises; be creative. If she was stuck/laying in bed that is what i would do, if she isnt then probally not.

As for the card MCD2400 idea of getting the friends to write stuff and sign it is good, because "the drugs are not really helping", I'd put a comment like "Dear (her name), (your name) told me the drugs wern't helping, so I've got for you something.... a little better . Love from your local neighbor hood drug dealer, Martinez" and staple one of those little drug looking ziplock bags with a few orange flavoured tic-tacs inside the card.

Im pretty sure the card would be a guarantee for a laugh.

Thanx for the replies guys. I went over last night with some flowers and a external hard drive full of movies. She was in a very bad state, clearly a bit dazed from the drugs but she still tried to cook me dinner! I told her to relax and helped around cleaning and cooked some pizza and garlic bread.

After dinner she was ready to doze off again, so I gave her a little kiss on the cheek before I left and she giggled with a big smile.

I think I just need to be patient and send her funny texts from time to time to cheer her up as she recovers.

I think in times like these, you gotta play the nice guy and when the girl recovers then pull back a bit.

Good thinking. You don't wanna kick in her while she is already down. Set boundaries, though (You are still a busy man, her sickness didn't blow up your schedule) but yeah, when she is sick, it's nice-guy time. Then pull back a bit.

what you did was PERFECT. You already got passed the first date so attraction is there, so what you did was built a shit ton of comfort, if she wants yo around and trusts you while she is really sick, then you are in for sure. Just keep building comfort and when she is better she will have a really strong bond to you.

A quick update, she wrote on her FB status that she wanted to hire a hitman to get rid of her ex who was still annoying her. I waited for a while to see what other ppl were writing and eventually wrote, "Awww, you have an admirer. That's so cute. Tell him you met this really cute and funny guy who took you out for coffee. He will get the msg and run along". Obviously, I took her out for coffee a week before. She started laughing.

We then started chatting on fb. The usual giving each other a bit of crap. I asked her what her plans were for the weekend. She said nothing planned. Then she said she would love to get a back massage done. I replied, "how did you know I gave good massages?". She took me up on it. So, gonna read up on how to give good massages. Have a bit of fun, really turn her on and then push her away a bit.

Its time to decide what you want. If you really like this girl then you need to show her some love. Go make her some soup, take a fun childs book and crawl in bed or on the couch with her (non-sexual) and read the childs story book. Something to make her laugh and show her that you are fun.

Alright guys, gave her a text on thursday asking her if she would have liked to come out for dinner with me and some work mates of mine (She has already met them as shes comes for flying lessons at my work), there were gonna be other girls as well. She told me that she would let me know by Friday. Friday, she texts me asking where is the place. I tell her the location but she says its too far for her to venture out. I give my usual reply, "no worries."

She then texts: I am a hermit
me: Yep
me: A doodle hermit (I nicknamed her 'doodle' when she does stupid things and she knows this)
Her: You're a doodle
Me: No massage for you

I get no reply.

Later on today, I thought hmmm, I guess shes feeling like crap because she can't do much cos shes recovering. So, I text her: "hey, I would like to kick your ass in laser strike, but cos you're recovering I will take out to movies tonight instead, 6:30pm"

Her: " I would so love laser tag but you would get wasted. Unfortunately, I have plans for dinner tonight. One tip silver, book me at least haha a day in advance"

Me: Hahahhaha and book in advance? Fine, tuesday night it is, same time.

Again no reply. Now, I am gonna assume its on and not text her till tuesday and see what happens. I am guessing the dinner was a bit too awkward for her so she pulled out. But, this no reply business is starting to get annoying.

If she cancels again, gonna give her the talk, "Look doodle, either you give me a time that you're free and we can meet up or lets not bother with this".
