Met this girl a while back at a party, and just decided to text her kinda randomly a couple days ago. We've been texting/talkin thru facebook here and there. Through facebook, I asked her if she wanted to get lunch on campus with me sometime this week, she said she would try but this week is really hectic. I sent her a text today...

Me: Hey meatball (nickname i gave her) r u free for a light lunch today at like 3??
Her: I would love too but I will be in class :/
Me: Ah damn wats ur schedule like tomorrow light lunch is my thing haha it would be cool if you could join =)

She didn't respond...

I saw her online on facebook and sent her a message, convo went like this...

Me: You're not going to win this poking war ^_^ (We've been poking each other back and forth)
Her: haha yes I so will!!!!!!
Me: Haha, we're going to highlight the next guiness book of world records for most pokes back and forth =P ...With me getting the last poke of course!
Her: ahhahaha, don't get too cocky!!!
Me: I'm just saying, I already have the last text on you and it's only been a couple days! I'm giving you a week before you stop poking me back...
Her: I'm usually good at texting back I promise! And nooooo I will go way longer than that!!
Her: I'm going to jump in da shower tho, I'll ttyl!!!
Me: Enjoy da shower meatball



Okay, where should I go from here? She still hasn't texted back...We are still poking each other though, responds fast on facebook chats....It is dead week right now (week before finals) so should I just hold out?? What are your suggestions, any help is appreciated...Thanks.

At this point literally all we're doing is poking each other back and forth. Was thinking of waiting a couple days then saying something along the lines of "I think we've poked each other enough to warrant a lunch on campus"

you have num closed her that pretty good already plus the fact that she pokes you back AND answers you fast on facebook.

what i would do is stop poking her for a moment and text her in like 2 days after the last poke to ask her to come join you somewhere like the campus library (tell her something like : im studying at the library, come if you dare! ) if she refuses in any way ...tease her with that next time you meet her online : you, miss meatball, are scared to have a real poking battle!

she seems to enjoy the poking joke, but you don't wanna over do it. put it in your back pocket.

i like Trivium's idea, play the mystery role. if she doesn't show go with Trivium again, or challenge her to a real poking battle to the death or something crazy.

"thats it, i've had it. real life poke battle, library, now."

if she makes an excuse then neg her for being afraid and tell her you understand that she can't take you, but you're gonna find a new challenger , or that your to busy poking other people. lol

p.s. if you talk to her again be sure to be the one who ends the convo!

Agree with ajmn86, don't over do the poking. Its a sure way to have them lose interest fast. First-hand experience.

I wouldn't say "we've done enough poking to warrant a lunch" Shes just having fun, she doesn't owe you anything.

Also, maybe the guys will disagree with me, but i wouldn't say "it would be cool if you could join " The line just makes my balls drop. Instead you could say. "Ah damn wats ur schedule like tomorrow light lunch is my thing haha. join me and i'll show you why light lunches are so boss. =)" or something...

okay so she has finals all week, but i challenged her to a real life poke war outside the campus cafeteria on thursday after her last final. What's the best text to send to her prior to when we meet up?

Don't worry about poking, in fact move onto a different routine. Since you number closed her without bridging the time gap you're only left with really one option. Call, don't text her, and invite her to hang with you & your friends. Tell her she is welcome to bring her friends along too. This will make a non-threatening environment to see you in. When you all hang out, this time make sure you bridge the gap with actual plans in the future to follow through on alone together. Good Luck!

P.S. Above all though, don't talk about poking anymore, you're going to sound like you have nothing else to work with. Also your odds as a pua and any pua in general I believe will do better without a facebook. She isn't going to be too obligated to talk to you phone/person if she can through the stupid computer. Think about it.
