Hi everyone I kind of need some advice with this situation:

I know this girl, we met at work a few years ago and there was some good chemistry, I know she was kind of interested in me back then, but I wasn't available and never told her that. We didn't really speak for the past few years, only exchanging text messages on special occasions like birthdays and new years just very occasional stuff..

I broke up with my ex-girlfriend recently so I'm like F it I'm gonna give it a shot with her. I want to recontact her, I have her phone number so I can text or talk, but I think it would be pretty weird if I called her out of the blue after so long, so I think texting would be a better option just for the first contact. I'm hesitating what I should write to her as the first text to ask her out... I need a few pointers I think.... Here is what I have so far, keep in mind this is JUST to remake contact then I will call her or see her in person (if all goes well):

"Hey HB, I passed by (our old workplace) the other day and you weren't there! I was just a little dissapointed I expected you to grow old working there! lol"

(We worked at McDonald's, it's a joke, I knew she would quit that job...)

After a few short texts I would probably let a few days pass and then call her. Like I said the texting would strictly be to recontact her and have her remember me a few days before I ask her out.

I'm also unsure of the text to reconnect thing, since she might just simply ignore the text...

Is that any good?

I don't think that's appropriate for a FIRST text... maybe I'll use that one eventually!
