I go to a local gym for Taekwondo, where I met this exchange student. She barely speaks English, and we are both black belts. Her friends who are also exchange students go to the gym as well, and they are all blackbelts, so this factor cannot be a DHV factor. However, when I playfully doubted her judo skills, she challenged me in a grappling match. Now she wants a rematch. I usually wouldn't take this as an IOI, but she keeps kicking me playfully in the butt, and smiles a lot when I tease her. The funny thing is though, I have done nothing to try to hit on her, so I'm kinda suspicious of all these potential IOIs. How do I move on from here? Also, what'd be a sneaky way to get her to tell me if she's dating one of her exchange friends or not?

so i guess those were IOIs after all based on your replies. I really need to work on detecting IOIs, since I am terrible at it. A few times, I missed my chance with attractive girls because I missed all of their obvious IOIs. Does anyone know a good post for spotting IOIs that I can use as future reference?

Just leave this one alone. If she barely speaks English, it'd be too easy to mistake her normal behavior for an IOI. (Example, if they normally play with their hair where she comes from.) There's many fish in the sea, you just have to bring a net.

Culture is important to remember. For example, this girl in Hong Kong. If you pinch her ass, she will take it as a sign that you want to finish in her oral so she will spin around for you. Also, OP, have you considered that what you think is a playful kick to your butt is in fact her attempt to beat you up? You probably made her very angry with something so she challenged you to wrestle. You probably made her angry with your full-nelson so now she kicks your butt. But she's a girl, her kick is probably too weak to damage a man's ass.

I disagree with the last two posts completely. Give her a stipulation that benefits you-no matter what. Loser buys dinner, beer, movie tickets, etc. If she shuts that down then just shrug and say no rematch. This is something you know she wants so you are in the power position here. You control the stipulations.

If the rematch thing doesn't play anymore, just invite her along on one of your adventures.

and as for the culture and language concern, thanks for your input, but I totally forgot mention that I speak her language too =) (i'm bilangual, sorry for not mentioning that)

the reason why I made the initial post was because I was confused, since I made NO ATTEMPT at all to hit on her, and I barely even noticed her until I started to suspect her IOIs... now, getting back to the second question, is there a good forum post of some blog post about recognizing IOIs?
