Hey all, admittedly I am a bit of a rookie at this kinda stuff... was interested in getting some input/feedback from you guys...

Recently a junior has started at my workplace on a 3 year training contract, I have been there 1.5years now so am much more senior.

It started with just her asking me for general help with her work, then it became good talking terms in the office, to texting, to phonecalls - to talking on and off pretty much all day.

Now, certain things lead me to think that i have already fallin in the friends zone (i have only known her 3 weeks.) Every now and again she starts bangin on about her ex and how she needs to stop talking to him. She sometimes talks about how she needs a rebound guy.

I come from an indian background - this girl is indian too. As you may know indian culture with regard to this stuff is a bit different compared to western culture. She is hellbent that she will only ever look at guys from a similar background to hers. She has said this to me numerous times during discussions about this. I am not of this similar background or even the same religion.

My views are not so restrictive which is why i am still interested to pursue this, and hopefully make her see my school of thought.

As it stands, I dont think she has a clue what my intentions are - she is very innocent.

I would like to know how I should play this from here...

I will assume you live in the USA. You say "I am not of this similar background or even the same religion." Well you have the indian background so that is a huge similarity. Plus all the IOI's.

I have been to India and whenever I meet someone who is from India or has been I found I have plenty of material to speak about. The cultural differences, food, dress, way people act, etc...

You can joke about being the rebound guy, be like "yeah I know this guy you would love him, funny, intellingent, cute, etc and then say Oh yeah thats me" That's if you can pull off the funny cocky style

Make some space between her and you, remember the rule of scarcity
