The way i do it, is that i think as a comedian. I used to watch (and learn how) comedians improvise with the information gathered up from the audience.
I noticed that some of them just break down sentences into words, look for a key word, and transition there to mini-topics that are relevant to the key word.
IE:
The comedian asks a guy in the audience what he does for living
Guy: I work in a bank.
well from here he could transition like this: BANK -> WALLET/PURSE -> MONEY -> POVERTY -> HOMELESS
Which he can basically have a joke about anything that leads him from a relevant connotations to the key word the guy said.
LONG STORY SHORT, you can text her: Hey, "Genius", wanna study together for x?
