what do you do if you're in set, and someone introduces some conversational topic that is totally alien to you (some TV show/band/magazine etc.) that gets the rest talking, especially if it is of particular interest to the girls and i've never heard of it. i can't just yank the convo away from it if they want to talk about it, but then i'm standing there awkwardly, going "yeah.....", with my value dripping away by the second. what do i do??

p.s. sorry if this was already asked before, i have 30 tabs open and it would take forever to search every single post

I would probably just ask them what it is, and have them / her explain what the tvshow / movie / mag is all about.

yes have them explain it too you and add your own opinion on it so your bringing value to the convo and not taking it.
