In which situation should one take their girlfriend's suggestion?

Let's say I was out to buy myself a shirt, what kind of a move would it be to ask her whether xyz would suit me better than abc and stuff like that?

The dilemma is:

- She could find you underconfident

OR

- She might feel involved in your life and happy...

Just ask it when you feel like you want some advice on something, take her advice when it seems reasonable and helpful to you.
