I came across an interesting article in Psychology Today. The "Vogue" factor as they call it, is a measure of the influence of beauty--and that people become dissatisfied with their sexual partners because of how beauty is portrayed in the media.

In their study, men were very satisfied with their partners and rated them as attractive. But after viewing pictures of models and Playboy spreads, those same men reported feeling less attracted to their partners. The women didn't get any uglier, but what happened was that men got unrealistic expectations of the beauty pool....meaning, after viewing the models, men overestimated the number oh highly attractive women (model quality) there are out there, attainable for them to date. It led men to believe they are settling for "okay" when they could be dating a model.

Now one of the founding principles of pua is that you can have any woman that you want. Your stature doesn't matter, her looks don't matter...if you play the game right you can have models and movie stars. And while that confidence in yourself is important, I think it can be misleading. It can lead some men to never realize how good they really have it....it could make them ignore a near-perfect jewel right in front of them. Because lets face it, there are very few women with model looks in the world, comparatively. And I am not suggesting that you should settle, but just realize that comparing your woman to a model is just plain cruel. Models make up such a small portion of the population yet they are considered the norm, or a standard that other women should live up to.

Anyway, it was an interesting article and if you take the time to read it I think you'd enjoy it :) http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles ... 023&page=1
