Long distance relationships that are for long times never work. So you better get out now before things get real bad.
false jurupa. I've lived the past 6 years of my life maintaining many long distance relationships. parents, friends, women.
They can work, you just have to understand how they work, you have to be an independent person, and you have to be an understanding / patient person.
My advice Camo: you are young. sometimes it is hard to pull yourself out of the emotional commitment and comfort you have with the highschool sweetheart. But if you are in college, and your urges are to game other people, then be HONEST with your girlfriend. Tell her that you have been drifting and that as of right now you just need some time to GROW.
Or, if you truly want to maintain the relationship, then you are going to have a lot of effort and work ahead of you. It will all be worth it in the end.
That effort and work is going to be specific to your relationship with her, but the general advice i could give:
create a phone dynamic - communication is key
set times when you will be seeing eachother again - this will always give you two something to plan and build excitement
play mutual games
do video chat
There are a lot of things you can do to maintain your relationship. Just know, that no matter what you TRY, if deep down you would rather sarge and play the field and be a bit wild, then nothing you do will work. The opposing urges will just clash.
