were both recent parents, this will be my first time celebrating mothers day with her and i havent a clue what to get her.

Pick something she is into say baking or gardening etc. and think of something she mentioned
She wished she had but didn't want to spend the money etc. If you can't think of anything she mentioned go to google and type "gifts for Mother's Day and add the key word of what she likes to do such as running or hiking or reading etc. there will be tons of ideas.
