Man, I have not posted on here in a LONG time! Anyway, I found this interesting and thought I might share it. I am currently in the longest relationship of my life at three years, I'm 25 and she's 21.

Last week we went out and watched some bands and one of the band members was very obviously hitting on her, even tried to get her to go in the van with them up for the next show in the next city the next night. She asked me and I said no, told her she knew he was hitting on her and she was just after attention, blah blah blah. She got a bit upset and apologetic but that was it. Anyway, yesterday she told me we were in a rut, which we probably are if I'm honest, and she said she thought we should break up soon. I agreed that we were in a rut but said I didn't want to break up, she pushed it a little bit and it was my turn to be upset. I didn't hide anything, a three year relationship is a big deal, but then noticed she didn't seem that fussed any more. I thought about it, then decided to take a risk and do an experiment: I told her that I agree and we should break up. She burst into tears and went back on everything she'd said.

Obviously we are having some problems, but I just wanted to remind everyone that girls can still push boundaries and try to assert emotional control even this far into a relationship. Don't be a dick, but remember what you've learnt here, it can always come in handy down the line.
