My question is simply how do I comfort her, and get her through this? Just be generally happy and distract her from the heartbreak she constantly endures... talk to her.. hug her... encourage her to talk... what?
Is this one of those questiosn that only I know the answer too- i.e. it's pointless to ask? what? _________________ Hazze

Do not give her reasons to feel better, instead, MAKE her feel better. Be compassionate and comforting, and be fun at the same time.
Remember, you need to match the wavelength of her mood first and then take her mood up to the level of your (fun) mood.
Take her out, make her forget. _________________ Women are plenty, time is not.

If you're a good friend, I'd share some of that with her somehow.
