- Broke up with my ex a month and a half back
- a lot of shitty feelings for the last month, getting better recently
- i read in a few books that you should know exactly what you want in your head before gaming

1: but how long should a healthy person wait before starting a new monogamous relationship?

2: side question if i still feel the occasional "shittyness" about my ex (i go to the same university campus as her) is it unhealthy to start a new relationship?

How long depends on you.

For myself, personally, I find that if I can date someone new and they completely take my mind off my previous ex and I don't really think about her, then I feel like I'm in a good enough place where I can start a new relationship. However, if I'm dating someone new and I find myself constantly comparing her to my previous ex, then it's probably not a good idea for me to start a new relationship, or at least not with that person.

Its ok to date if you are not yet over your ex, but I would not commit until you are 100% over her! and I would be honest with the other woman or women! tell them that you just got out of a serious relationship and so you want to take it slow.
