How much can a girl pick up in 2 months time? Sounds like she's having trouble that just going to the gym is not going to solve. I'd first find out why she's gained so much weight and work from there. Unless she's really obese, it's actually fun to have marshmallow soft thighs wrapped around your body. mmmm.... or are you just trying to see her for some social proof?

Oh boy is this a loaded issue. And a great topic!

I can tell you, that as a female, you have to be very careful of anything you say. Basically, saying nothing is the best and safest course.

Example: I have always been fit and prided myself in my figure. However, every so often 5 lbs will creep up on me. I told an ex bf of mine, "I've decided I need to lose 5 lbs." And his reply was "I like the way you know exactly how much you need to lose."

I did not like that reply. To me, he could have just said nothing, but his comment was like he was telling me "you need to lose 5 lbs."

I lost the 5 lbs and dumped him. Not for that comment, it was lots of things also him being loaded but a total cheapskate.

I agree with BigJohn, ACM, Killians etc. who suggest --
- finding out what is bothering her emotionally and supporting her there.
- going to the gym together not because she needs it but to have FUN.
- doing active things together ... yardwork, dog walking, cleaning, are all much more fun together and they burn calories.
- take her dancing (more calories burned)
- when you go out, don't take her to places like sports bars with stuff like wings and rich appetizers. Make healthy dining choices, or stay in and cook for her! That is soooo sexy, when a man cooks for me!
