Once you let go of the notion of 'having' her that's when all of this will start making sense. Right now you're clinging.

The paradox of it is that letting go is typically when the girl starts sniffing around. At that point you're in a position to more objectively assess the situation and you may not even want the relationship anymore. Or, you may have a desire to work on things but you're more grounded to yourself, and that'd make it more possible to build something stable.

Update: I think my girl is coming around. Good thing I caught myself. But time will tell for sure. What I've seen work best in this situation is just pretending nothing was wrong and going a little cold myself.
