Is it just me or have you guys experienced this too?

You find her unattractive after a couple years or months of being together.

I've been with my girl for almost 5 yrs. (5 yrs in may) and I find her unattractive for a while now. I have friends who say she's cute but I just don't see her as that attractive girl I first met. She bugs the crap outta me too. Maybe I'm just too use to her face? She did gain quite a few lbs too. Just to clarify, I am not shallow.

I think it's come to the point where I am just leading her on. My relationship with her is one of those "I love you but I just can't be with you" type. I do love her, but I just can't see myself being with her. I THINK she feels the same way, but I don't want to bring it up in case i'm wrong. She has made me feel insecure for a long time, which is why I can't be with her. I guess one reason I stay is because of my insecurities. It's just that she has made me think that all girls are the same and the next girl I'll be with will end up making me insecure too. lOl and no, i'm not talking about my penis.

The only way I've been able to handle this is by having a different squeeze. It's so funny how she always say that if i cheat, she will know. Anyways, there was this one crazy time though. I was with another squeeze and one day my S.O. wanted to have a serious "talk". So we met up. She asked if I was cheating on her because she felt very uneasy. She said her gut feels very strongly about me cheating on her. I panicked so bad... in the end, she didn't know. I do feel bad about cheating, but some part of me feels like it's justified.

Anyone had this happen to them before?

You guys lack excitement and probably have a boring relationship and yes , you are probably used to seeing her face. In my last LTR I had a period when I was starting to see her as unattractive , although she was a solid 9 if not a 10. That's pretty much because I was seeing her every day. Eventually I had to move away and I could only see her a couple of times / month. Things went back to normal.

In your case however , the extra lbs might also influence things.


My advice ? see her less often.

I agree with R.C. You are currently so used to each other, the sexual tension,chemistry and excitement has withered a bit. But don't take 5 years for granted, i remember feeling the exact same way, but after my girl started losing interest in me, believe me it changed how i saw her, and it made me appreciate her, and once again see her as attractive.

Don't take her for granted, its clear that if you guys can be together for 5 years, you are highly compatible, attraction and passion can be worked on. Its likely the exact same thing will occur with someone else eventually.
