Gents,

Been in a relationship with this girl for 4 months. Everything happened so fast I hardly had time to rationalize it. I have been giving a lot of thought to my relationship with this girl and there are things that just arnt working. We live 3.5 hours away from each other (seeing each other every other week or so). She is CUTE but not HOT. (I know this sounds shallow but I have high standards and she just isnt really meeting them anymore). And she is also 3 years younger than I (I feel we are in different transitions right now....me to the working word....her still in school ect..) These things just overpower the reasons why I began this relationship with her in the first place... (her company, commonality, the physical benefits of being in a relationship, self-worth ect.)

My problem is I have never really had to break up with a girl who was into me. Most of the girls who ever got this close dumped me lol. If I were to ask this girl to marry me tomorrow the wedding would be this weekend... And im not saying this because I have a low self-esteem or im trying to look cool here on this forum...I am saying it because it is truly how this girl feels. I mean she really enjoys my company, companionship, and personality.

***SO. How do I go about breaking up with this girl? Should I be super sensitive about it? OR maybe I just say we are done and leave? Do it in person or via SPAM/text? I know this sounds ridiculous to some of you...but its something I have honestly never had to deal with.

*****The last thing I want to do is crush this girl... but she has to know there isn't really a future with me. How do I do this in a mature manner?

Haha Majikal, that's a good reply I think if you go AFC though it wouldn't work, because you will be incongruent.

Just tell the girl bullshit excuses like "I don't feel the same anymore" "Let's just be friends" "I need time" etc. That's what I've done before and it works. But be prepared that you will get a few emails/texts from her that she wants you back etc.

Thanks for the reply's. either way its an uncomfortable situation to be in. But the more i think about it the more i just need to let her go and move on.
