| Offline | | New to MPUA Forum | Joined: Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:22 pm Posts: 1 | | So a little backstory first: I have dated this girl for about 7 months; after about 5 months she broke up with me because she "didn't feel right" about it, but we got back together two months later and are still together. I realize her reasoning for breaking up was probably bullshit, but I was actually pretty OK with it and went no contact for the whole break. When she came back to me I acted pretty aloof, but definitely let her back in too easily/quickly and we started dating again quite soon after. I had a good mindset though and kept her chasing me and searching for my approval and I now am very close to this girl. Very recently the "I love yous" came out and I believe our relationship is going well and her attraction is still very high.
Anyway my frame has been slipping a bit lately due to health issues and some insecurities and occasionally I get in these weird moods where I appear sort of mopey and quiet and I have let some jealous statements slip out which rarely ever happens. For some reason I keep thinking of our "break" and insignificant things causing some jealously in me. Yesterday I told her I thought she broke up with me for a reason other than hers and said I wasn't bothered by it, but told her because she's always asking what I'm thinking when I'm in my quiet moods. Anyway with my health issues sometimes I do actually feel down/low energy and I get quieter than usual; I am worried now that every time I get a little quiet she is going to think I am being insecure even if I'm not.
My main question is what should I do in the short term to show her I'm not an insecure person and that I'm just quiet sometimes or I actually feel unwell? Obviously in the long term I'll work on my issues and work on my frame and how I control my emotions, but should I try to explain it to her and say something or just let it go and pretend it never happened? I'm thinking if I bring it up it will negatively put it in her mind because why would I bring it up unless it mattered? Also, when she asks me what I'm thinking when I'm quiet (or sometimes we'll cuddle and I'll kinda stare off into space and let my thoughts wander and she'll notice and usually ask) should I just say ridiculous things/anything, or should I try to make it seem like I'm actually deep in thought about something important? I'm hoping I haven't dug myself a hole with my weird behaviour.
