But here's a few of my thoughts floating around in my head right now:
- maybe she's uncomfortable being in a high school environment (which she is) and things might get better afterwards?
- maybe she's doing the exact same thing as me, and waiting till the end of the year to break up?
- maybe she's just the shyest person I've ever met and it will take me a long time to get her to open up?
- maybe she's so infatuated with me right now that me breaking up with her will tear her apart?
Everyone's given you good advice. Drop her immediately. I just wanted to additionally point out the above, and let you know that these are all justifications and excuses for not just doing it. Read through them again, and you'll see what I mean.
-Do you really think she's going to change who she is and her whole personality, just because she's leaving HS, when she'll be entering a college environment with tons of guys wanting to get with an 18 year old girl?
-If she is, then why are you waiting? You're making it both painful for both of you.
-Unlikely. Maybe, but do you really want to put yourself through years of what is obviously torturous to you, just to get one girl who you aren't getting along with now? I think this one is more of a fear of not having another girl when you leave this one. Realize that there are other girls who will love to be with you.
-I only know a little about your situation from this post. But it seems to me that you guys have no communication, and thus no connection. No emotional connection meas that the break up will be relatively painless (though there will still be drama and some pain).
Whenever the thought that I should drop a girl comes to mind, I immediately sit down and come with the reasons why I
shouldn't drop her. I don't even bother thinking why I should, because the thought has come to me, so there's obviously something not working. Sometimes, there are good reasons not to drop her. But usually, the reasons I "shouldn't drop her" are excuses that I'm coming up with. Just something to think about. Good luck!
