I DON'T mean asking her questions like "Am I being too clingy?" or "Am I attractive to you?"
I mean saying things like "I feel like I'm being too clingy when I do this. What do you think?" or "When I flirt with you, do you find me more attractive?"
I sometimes ask my girlfriend these questions just so I know how I can remain the best man in the world to her. But do questions like these (worded similarly to how I worded the "example" questions above) subconsciously convey insecurity? Should I avoid these things and just assume that I'm doing everything right?

Nothing can be more confident than a guy who is so secure with himself that he is comfortable asking about how he can be better.
I would say you need to ask when the time is right, like when you are both opening up to each other about things and also preface it by saying something like "we have a great relationship and I want it to always get better, what do you think about..." and then say it in a funny voice or something that will make her laugh and take her mind off the insecurity aspect of it.
Just my 2 cents.
