I feel you didn't ruin your chances but at the same time you didn't gain any ground either. If you keep doing this you will end up in LJBF zone. Read a post I posted the other day after I found it. You need to tease her to make her come after you instead of chasing her. If she wants to pay ask her to pay for you. I know its strange but try it. The key is to get her to start chasing you and thinking of you as it states in this article I posted.

i didnt say i felt like i ruined my chances, but i see your point.
i teased her whenever it was the good time and when i knew ill get a laugh back.

she is my best friend, and i say it cuz we talk every day on the phone, when we hang out we have fun, no awkward silences, everything is fun.. and we are really open with each other about things that go around us.

im already in the LJBF anyways.. so thats already been too late over a year now.

the problem is, i dont see her that often cuz we are both busy.. and when we hang out, there is a clear vibe saying "we are friends, lets keep it that way"

especially as i mention about when i dropped her off, and i asked her to give me a kiss on the cheek and she gave me a hug instead, that right there showed me that she just wants to stay friends so im not sure what to do..
last thing i want is to lose her, even as a friend.

You just need to be clear at what you want. If you don't want to lose her as a friend more than you want to gain her as a GF than that's what you'll get. If you want her as a GF than you'd have to be wiling to lose her as a friend. That's just the way it usually is. If it works out otherwise good for you. Best of luck
