MY GF of 8 months bought me a 300$ dockable speakers unit for my iphone. I mentioned to her that it was something I would like but assumed that she would get me a cheap set. She's far from being loaded and I feel guilty. For my purposes something far less expensive would have worked just as well.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether and how I should bring this up?

No. Do not tell her you are feeling guilty about the gift. Thank her and then enjoy your present. She likes you alot and she shows it by getting you exactly what you wanted...so stop being weird and be thankful.

Tell her you feel guilty and, although you LOVE your gift (emphasize this), don't want her spending that much money on you.

Which option will bring out the most good? I'd say option 2. I'm with Hobbit though definitely EMPHASIZE how much you love it. What's done is done and just accept it and don't make a big deal out of it. She obviously wanted to make you very happy and to make her very happy about her decision to buy that for you, you best show it :)

She definitely wanted to show you how much she loves you man. I would say emphasize how much you like her gift and just tell her next time not spend that much money. Chances are she still will but hey, you told her.
