A friend of mine has been with her boyfriend for a year or so and has just recently found out that after 3 months of dating, he was badmouthing her to a mutual friend of theirs through letters.

He said things like he was trying to figure out a way how to break up with her because she was a slut and he reckons you cant make a slut into wife material. He also critiscized one of our "fun time party girl" friends and said if his girlfriend is hanging out with a girl like this, what does that say about his GF? For the record, his GF was never a slut - she did like to go out get drunk and have fun with the girls when she was single. She had a bad break up and her party girl ways happened after this. When she was with the previous boyfriend, she was very sweet and innocent and a good girl. When in a relationship, she is the most devoted person ever. She never ever even looked at other guys and she stopped partying as much or wehn she did go out, she would go to his place afterwards.

He also said things like she is extremely needy and clingy and annoying and she followed him around everywehre and was pretty much stalking him. I don't believe this was true - yes at the beginning she really did like him and wanted to make him happy so she would cook for him and give him random little gifts but she would not go over to his house or anywehere he was without him inviting her there. He initatied every date and he also initiated sex - she never said no but why should she have to?

He never acted like this towards her and was always acting like the loving boyfriend and like he was really into her.

Now he always tells her and all his friends and her friends how much he loves her and can't believe an amazing girl like her is with him.

I am just so angry at this dickhead - what gives him the right to say this sort of shit about a beautiful person who only ever tried to make him happy? My main question is what should she do about this? I know it was a long time ago and we havent heard any of these stories in recent times but it is absolutely killing her that during that time when she was falling in love with him, he seemed to actually hate her. Any suggestions on how she can deal with this? She doesnt really want to confront him becasue she is too upset at the moment and she doenst want to get this mutual friend into trouble.

She must simply ignore him, and PRETEND to hate him.
She loves him, and she can't help it. She will love him till she dies, and he feels the same way.

His own demons have risen to kill the love between them. She is hurt badly by him. The poor girl is emotionally injured. She loves him, and she hates him.

He is fighting his own internal war; him vs. him; the man of the present, vs the demonic apparition of his past. His anger has nothing to do with the girl; it could have been any girl, be it a virgin princess or a two-cent whore.

He must eliminate his evil before he can care for his loved one. Once he eliminates all that is not good in him, he must THEN heal the rift in his loved one. She wants him badly, beyond human comparison, but first he must love himself, and his life.

Wow, thanks for that beautiful romance novel Rune!! Loved all the insults as well - you're right he does deserve all the hatred for hurting her, but she feels kind of sorry for him because he has had a fucked up relationship before he even knew her. His ex girlfirend was a pyscho and alcoholic and she got violent and cheated on him repeatedly and basically treated him like shit. I guess this is why he thought my friend and his cuirrent girlfriend would be the same. I have passed on your opinion to my girl and she is so grateful that there actually are nice guys (like you) out there who wouldnt do this shit and are willing to help an emoptionally injured person like herself.
