I just joined the forums. I just got out of a 4 year relationship with my first love. She says she just needs some time apart and that I need to work on some stuff, but I interpret it as it is completely over. I need help talking to girls, as this was the only girl I had been with for a long time, but that's a different issue for another time and thread.

What advice do you guys have for getting over the first one? What helped you do it, what to avoid, etc? Should I just try to be with a bunch of girls? I am 23 years old and graduating college next semester, and I am under no illusion that this was the only girl in the world for me and I will be alone forever. I just want some specific advice on what to do/not do.

If you're looking to make her jealous your best bet is to not contact her under any circumstance and show her that you are comfortable with the break up.. Time will heal all of your wounds, i say this from experience. In the mean time get a few friends and go out and have fun with them. Try to surround yourself with beautiful women. and i also recommend that you get active, go for runs and things like that, natural endorphens help you feel a high unlike any drug could. If the two of you are truly done, then delete her from FB, Myspace, phone etc. Surround yourself with friends, get out as much as possible, work out, etc. Just basically enjoy it as much as you can.

And like you said, you will be done with college soon, trust me man there are TONS of women out there once you get outta college, so just look forward to that
