NLPing Myself, Please help

Hello,

I had a lot of concussions and have some mental issues I am trying to work through. A culmination of things eventually landed me in a suicide watch Inpatient program, about a month ago... so I could really use some help here guys.

I'm not really worried about getting girls right now, I'm worried about getting my life together and my mental well being. I figure the girls will follow. I'm going to a meditation program starting this weekend, and am seeing a psychologist and psychiatrist right now. I go to the gym or do some type of exercise probably 5 days a week. So, I mean I try, but I have been for the past 2-3 years and nothing seems to get any better.

I really don't know what to turn to anymore, I wish I could go see Anthony Robbins and have him hypnotize me or something. Only halfway joking, can anyone on here do that...?

I was wondering if there was a way to NLP yourself? Like steps above positive affirmations and such. I remember Style in The Game talking about how those two guys hypnotized him. Is there anyway to hypnotize yourself with deep positive beliefs? (I don't know much about NLP) Or something that will help with brain functioning and stuff, similar to how practicing meditation chances your brain structure. But, like faster...

I asked the head of the Outpatient program about that EMDR, but she said that was really for people with past traumatic issues and doesn't think it would help me. Like sexual abuse and stuff, which I haven't had. I've had a normal life.

I'm going to go through the Inner Game section and try to work a bit on myself everyday. It's just hard to get stuff done, and 'fake it until you make it' when you are really depressed and not functioning all the time. I think I don't really believe I can even get better. But I have two choices right now: Quit life or Get Better. I keep trying to get better, for the past few years, and nothing seems to stick, was hoping NLP might work....

So basically, you want a quick fix? If that exists, if there is a Royal Road to self-satisfaction, it's way out of your price range. A lot of life sucks and a lot more is just killing time where you wait for something good that might never come. The only reason you're behind the curve is because you don't have hope that good thing is coming. Find that, you'll be alright. In the mean time you could try doing something nice for less fortunate people if you're just going to be selfish and not do shit with your time anyway. You can at least be a tool for other people's happiness if you can't be motivated to get your own.

Yes, that's it asshole. I am just a tool and have never spent time volunteering or giving and helping other people. I have had severe brain swelling and lots of head trauma. Read an article or pay attention to the new on all the discussion on concussions in Football. It fucks with your brain functioning, which is essentially your soul. Manifesting itself in a variety of very disturbing ways, being told I was schizophrenic, and having an IQ drop as well as impaired reaction time. It's also a cause of why a high percentage of our US troops dealing with this end up killing themselves.

I didn't post on here for empathy, I don't want that because I have had it and gets you nowhere, it's a waste of time. Hence, I don't cry anymore and ask why me. I just accept my situation and try to find the formula that will 'fix' me. I try a lot to help myself, I believe I posted some examples of such. But, if you want to berate someone who is already down, go waste your time and take out your low self esteem and frustrations somewhere else. Because I definitely don't need that right now. Thanks for the advice...

And how the fuck was I supposed to know what articles to read, you didn't bother to say what was specifically wrong with you other than you attempted suicide. You say you don't want empathy and pity, but you bitch at me for giving you neither. Well. What. The. Fuck. DO. You. Want. from self-centered pricks on a pick up site? If there was a miracle cure, something as cheap and reusable as NLP, you probably would have got it.

I know how this site works, it sounded like your shit was sort of important, and I figured I'd at least respond to you even if I don't know shit about NLP. If you prefer to be ignored, I can do that like everyone else that viewed this thread, too. If you think I'm picking on you, maybe I just respect our time enough not to poo-poo and pat your ass. Stephen Hawking's in pretty shitty shape, he still gets shit done, why can't you? And sincerely, sorry, but I'm no good at peddling hope, I have to save the glimmer I have for myself.

Here's a thought, there must be some kind of charitable program that has people spending time with the less fortunate so they can feel better about themselves. You can sign up for that, that's a perfectly reasonable way to help people out and maybe you might get something out of getting out of your own head for an hour a day or whatever. You can also call up your local radio station, they love this kind of PR.

Hey bro im pretty much going through the same thing you are. Some things I recomomend are:

1) Definately Get some Omega-3 (fish oil) It does FUCKING WONDERS for your well being and especially your Brain!! Also take a good daily multivitamin..These help ALOT with depression and foggy thoughts and stuff..Definately brings your mood up!!

2) Medidation will also work Wonders man..Trust me! Go to the classes and see how it works out for you. You can just sit there for hours and hours being totally calm and relaxed and work out problems in a totally different way that actually works for you! If you can also do A LOT of visualisation!! This helps your subconcious re-train itself into how you want it to!! Check this out.. http://www.eruptingmind.com/how-to-visualize/ You can visualise yourself as a happy man, confident, always sure of yourself, in a happy mood all the time and etc...Simply imagine yourself how you want to be!! Visualisation is the key to changing your thinking paterns..trust me. YOu must be persistent though!!

3) IF you can also see a hypnotherapist man..they can work wonders for you!

4) do things that make you happy!

Zues, Thanks a bunch for the advice and link on the visualization. I have been trying to meditate at least for a bit everyday, and I can tell it helps calm my mind. I am going to try to come up with some visualizations and see if I can't incorporate them into some type of routine with the meditation, helping me to retrain my subconscious.

I read one of the most encouraging thing today (in a book called 'Clean' by Alejandro Junger)... talking about how our brains are 'plastic'. Meaning that they are always changing, and that we Can rewire them. I just got the book two days ago, but am trying to breeze through it. I read about it in one of my magazines. It is basically a detox cleansing program, and it talks about how toxins our in our everyday lives which is why we are having so many health problems, because our cells aren't functioning correctly. I can't Truly recommend it yet, because I haven't finished the book and/or started the 3 week cleanse, but it literally sounds like a miracle worker. If you get a chance maybe google it? The article I originally read on it was in the magazine 'Outside'
