the february man and my voice will go with you and the teaching seminars of milton h erickson they are interesting reads they dohelp with storytelling and metaphor however saying that if you want to learn about hypnotic language i wouldnt recommend them i would either recommend richard bandlers guide to trance-formations or wordweaving by trevor silvestre

I've read about 30. Have to say that they are incredible. I second the recommendation of the Bandler books too.
Now having said that, reading them and trying to extract pickup tools is not gonna be a good thing to do. Just read it all, take it in, and see how it changes you for the better.

Uncommon Therapy and My Voice Will Go With You are good intros and very readable.
February Man, collected papers, and others like that are heavier.
I really liked the "Seminars, Workshops and Lectures of.." series and "An American Healer". "Seminars..." being transcribed allows you to see his use of language and it'll rub off on you just by reading it. You can also find about 6 hours of his audio if you look around.

there is 1 book i highly recommend its the best Erickson book ive found and probably one of the best books in hypnosis,
ericksonian approaches by rubin battino and thomas south. it has loads of case studies and some of them are funny, 'the hugest fanny'(a real case-study), it also has a huge amount on stories, metaphor, language and induction. there is also stuff for the nlp'er as well including the milton model(the book was written by 2 nlp'ers) the only drawback is it is expensive £40 but its worth it for the amount of knowledge about erickson and his work

I've not read into NLP so far to date but it's a subject i'd like to become well read in. I just ordered a copy of My Voice Will Go With You.

Will always recommend "My Voice Will Go With You". Haven't read many of his others, but I will just throw in Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman. Different approach entirely, but absolute gold on pages.
