Hi guys. I've been subscribing for many of these persuasion newsletters that use a lot of NLP-based techniques for many years. The amount of skill and craftsmanship never ceases to astound me, so I just picked one at random to post here and I think most of you can see all the weird and wonderful techniques he uses. Just another useful example of NLP in a different application.

I Was Wrong. Totally Wrong. Here's Why

Hi Rafiel,

Hey this is Kenrick with a frank admission.

I was wrong yesterday.

I told you there were 2 people registered for every place on today's teleseminar.

Well, things got worse.

Too many people went here : http://maxpersuasion.com/free_teleseminar and registered for the call that starts at 2 PM eastern time today.

Now there are four people coveting every place.

And at 2 PM today, there are going to be people who are really happy and some people who are...

Not so happy.

There is only one way to make sure you get to hear the call.

Get on the line early.

Because by the time the call rolls around, it could be five people fighting for every place.

And I'll give you a preview, it's going to be controversial.

And SOME people may be upset.

Others may be FURIOUS.

But the call will not be dull.

Speak to you at 2 if you registered here http://maxpersuasion.com/free_teleseminar and you are on the call.

Talk with you soon, Kenrick Cleveland @TalkMagic

That email is interesting, but I think it's fundamentally flawed. It flawed because it reeks of neediness. Why would he need your business if he is so inundated with people?! It seems very transparent when sent to people who are alive and well informed of persuasion techniques.

However, I'm pretty sure I can use some of these for my business venture.

I'd like to inform you of a new technique I discovered which will help me in my magazine business. You're probably aware of this technique yourself.

I forget what the techniques is called, but I'll call it 'altruistic example'.

It's simply a case of giving them an altruistic example to follow. Human society seems to gather around an altruistic core, which never fails to respond if called upon.

For example, in my quest to sell MAGS, I might say:

Hey, I've been in the neighborhood and I've been trying to sell these mags without much luck until I came to this street. I love how people on this street are so friendly and non-judgmental. so far I've barely scrapped enough to get the bus home, but I'm getting more successful thanks to the friendly people... Other people have been buying 2 copies at a time, how many can I put you down for?

(I think this needs to be honed a bit, but it adjusts their self concept in a very keen way, whilst showing them an altruistic example to follow

What do you think?
