| I am semi-experienced with hypnosis (been studying it and doing it for a while, but not professionally) but NLP.. Honestly I think the reason I've been staying away from it is because I started it with 'Structure of Magic' (Bandler), read through both books... and my eyes crossed each other and I can't remember a word of them - though I've tried going through them two or three times now. Memorization has been a bit of an issue for me in most fields. And I've tried more generic NLP books but they all came across as fluffy (sounded like mostly self-improvement reframing basics stuff, not terribly useful).
If (assuming the following is correct) NLP is about
1) Observation - (subject's eye movements, non-verbal cues)
2) Deep understanding of sentence structures
3) Incorporating patterns naturally
Has anyone had any major success in improving these things using NLP or traditional self-hypnosis? Or are there existing scripts out there for improving learning of these things? (observation, memory, sub-conscious delivery) Any other shortcuts for making learning this a little easier?
If not, from that long list of resources, what would you recommend as a starting point that has direct ties to SS and PUA or focuses more on groking material than memorizing it? ('why' things work more than 'what' things work, kinesthetic learning, intuitive-perceiving, etc.)
Disclaimer: I promise I Am going to go through most of the books and other material in the sticky too, I have shelves of psych and hypno books already. NLP has just been more challenging to my learning style. And I don't want to waste time reading things thrice to get them to stick if there's a way of getting them to stick the first time so I can read three books instead. _________________ Be thou content with flowers,--fruit,--nay, leaves, But pluck them from no garden but thine own!
