I wanted to know how some of you who get success using NLP started off learning it. I started off by reading those books with patterns in them and trying them out. Then I read a book by someone who was a pua and claimed to be good at NLP. I get the idea that in order for someone to be trully good at NLP they might have to read the THEORETICAL stuff first then try out the patterns. The reason I say this is because I have studied not NLP but those books with patterns and have memorized at least three and have used them each at least a dozen of times and NONE OF THEM WORKED. I can say that one girl thought it was "romantic" but she sure wasnt feeling any romance at the time it was a very logical comment blurted out from her.

So the question is did some of you guys who acutally know what youre doing just jump into the patterns and get results??

Did the most of you who see results do a ton of homework and studying into the THEORETICAL aspects of NLP first then move on to patterns or make up your own and get results??

have you tested some of nlp techniques "seperately" to know whether they work or not? Such as anchoring, embedded commands, analogue marking etc?

What was your experience with these techniques?

If you are expecting an overnight success with NLP, you are in for a rude awakening.
1.Chunk the patterns (I assume you know the theory behind them)
2. Integrate them in your natural speech patterns so they sound natural.
3. Rinse, repeat.

Jumping in head first can backfire in ways you don't even want to think about.
