So, I've been trying Speed Seducting patterning language over MSN and it seems to work pretty good, not as good as in person but still useful.

Here is a chat log example:

Girl: After 4 frutrated years trying to be happy we gave up. (her talking about her ex)

ME: Hmm... that's not how you're happy. It's on or not. No if's, no but's. No matter how you try, the important thing is to look at the right place.
(me building rapport and pacing)

Girl: Yeaaaahhh I totally agree! But at the momment it was complicated. Deep in love with him. It couldn't be rational.

ME: I know how it is... this really happens with me, the way I see it is that it's the best passion... when you turn off your rational brain and really see this person in a new way that you never looked before, maybe he's just a friend but after something changes and the more you try to not think the more you think about this person. Me, I think this is both dangerous and exciting, agree?

my mate does it through msn and fb chat all the time, works really well, he adds alot of flirty language in aswell, turning them on, and using nlp as an anti defence mechanism.
