Watch some Derren Brown videos on youtube and you will see (he instantly converts people and makes people go color blind along with other things). It is very possible that someone could be irresponsible and not reverse the effects, or use the power to permanently change someone's internal thought patterns. _________________ There are no failures, only feedback.

Instead of just blindly believing your friend, why not educate yourself more about hypnosis and NLP and decide for yourself?
I've discussed this here before, but it takes some reading and study to understand how hypnosis and NLP work. Nevertheless, a little searching online can dispel the most common myths about the supposed "dangers" of these practices. Don't listen to your friend unless he knows what he's talking about (and I'd bet that he doesn't).
As for Derren Brown, you folks need to know that while NLP forms a strong part of his act, many magicians/mentalists (hey, I've studied that, too) believe that he uses NLP at least in part as misdirection for standard magic/mentalist tricks. Remember that magicians are not above using stooges and plants to bolster their miraculous effects, even on TV and even when they swear up, down, backwards and forwards that they don't. So don't put your trust in Brown's online videos as sole proof of what NLP can do.

After a couple hours I woke up prematurely and was no longer under hypnosis. If You did say change someones mental patterns using NLP so that yellow became blue and visa verse, after one night of good sleep they would wake up to things being normal. Don't quote me on that cause I don't know as much about NLP as I do regular hypnosis, but I'm betting it would. Of course anchor stacking over the course of weeks or months might make it more permanent.
Plus if someone over the course of a long relationship was brain washed to be messed up, a regular hypnotherapist could undo all of that damage in a few session if not in one singular session.

Note to self: Don't.
Let's put it this way: I did some NLP on her, she became more attatched to me.. and I dumped her. She will soon get over me, but it will take atleast a few more weeks.. (been a month..).
However, NLP will not fuck anyone up. It might alter how a person sees things, but so will everything you do. It's a tool, like a hammer. You can fuck someone up with a hammer, but it will heal eventually. _________________ Style: Who do you think lies more...
