I've never understood this. People are usually pretty receptive to me. Maybe it's just because I live in a laid back state. Are bitch shields really common or is it a California thing? I don't think I've ever ran into one except once when I was drinking heavily, opening a table and asked the attractive girl on the outside if I could sit down and she said "no". That's pretty much it.

Through my own experience, I've come to realise this phenomenon pretty common among the more attractive women in a night-time, social environment especially. Like the definition above implies, at the end, it's important to screen and interpret the genuine nature of the HB beyond any negative persona or resistance she might have developed through social conditioning, so of course these people could still be very approachable and receptive when you get to know them better.

you know I never got the bitch shield until i got good at pumping her emotions and pick up in general. I think it's because you come across as too smooth and she needs to check that you really are the man every woman wants and not just another let down faker.
