This is not a nice thing to do... and its pretty a douche bag-like thing to do. Once I tried to help out a friend of mine that was absolutely terrified of talking to girls. Like that indian guy from The Big Bang Theory. It was really frustrating, he couldnt even do the simplest things, it was a huge issue.

After trying to make him open at a mall for an hour I told him "Fuck this, stop being so fucking scared!! whats the worst thing that could happen? getting slapped? walk up to that chick over there, the hot blonde, and spill your smoothie on her"

He gave me a WTF look, but he trusted me, and he had some kind safety net, cause I'm always suporting my bros, If needed I would bail him out of jail or something. He did it. the girl got really pissed hitted him with her purse... we ran.

In the parking lot we stopped, and I said "Dude, thats the craziest thing I've ever witnessed, this is the worst thing that could happen.. and it wasnt that bad"

He improved since then..

Please dont assault women.. I'm not encouranging anyone to do something offensive in any manner. But sometimes you gotta know first hand whats the worse thing that could happen, to hava the attitude of:

"I'M GONNA APROACH THIS GIRL? FUCK YEAH!!! WHATS THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?"

Ant there would be an answer for that last question, a laughable one.

My worst case scenario was when I farted real hard, and when I turned around; there she was, super hottie, I told her "I bet thats the worst pick up line you've ever heard". I went on a couple dates with that chick.

Ideally I would do all sorts of loco approaches like this for practice on what kind of attitude works best for me and get used to it, like if I can open 100 girls with outrageous lewd comments learning how to small talk effectively should be ez. I'm starting with almost no social skills anyways.

The thing I encouraged my friend to do, wasnt funny (it might be a slightly funny story, but doing it wasnt).

I dont think that necessarily pulling stunts like this make you weird, its always other stuff (like being weird already).

I have a rule for this sort of stuff, allowed stuff is the sort of things that maximize the overall level of happiness. Imagine that people happiness level could be measured with a number (0 to 10, 0 To 5, whatever) and multiply people's happiness numbers with each other. If theres a zero, the overall level would be zero. So the best possible scenario is to make everyone as happy as possible, or at least minimize the level of un-happiness.

By the way, that was a metaphor, dont carry around a calculator.
