Ah, the law of averages. I've done a lot of sales and know all about this... and yeah, it does have its place in pickup - but only if your approach is consistent.

If you approach 20 girls and change your approach each time because you're trying to "calibrate", you're gonna go through a lot more girls than you would if you approached the same way each time. I'm not talking about being a robot and wording your approach exactly the same though, I'm talking about having an approach which reflects who you are, and what your needs and desires truly are. Then, and only then, will you consistently attract the women that are right for you. It's not about developing game that attracts the most women, it's about attracting the women that are right for you.

It's hard for some guys to rationalise this, but if you're able to attract every woman you meet, it's not a good thing. Not all of them are right for you, their personalities don't click with yours or they don't want the same thing as you and in the long run this will cause a lot of problems. So, focus your approach around expressing your needs in a way that expresses your true personality, your values, who you are. Not canned or scripted stuff that's designed to give you the biggest close rate.

Solomon II, you have much wisdom. I believe sales and PU have much in common, When dealing with sales, you must have goals; same as with pickup. Even if the goals are to just have fun; know what you're swinging at and you will be more likely to hit it.

Really successful selling however is done by those to who know what the fuck they are doing. Some are born with it (not many), and some develop it through discipline and enthusiasm. Which ever way it happens, the path becomes apart of you and you can recognize the "way" through sheer experience and consciousness. Eventually subconscious recognition becomes the art of pickup.
