I was thinking about this a little more and watched the video more closely. Perhaps this trick is just psychological in nature. Like the number 3/7 bit.

He tells her to close her eyes and concentrate very hard on everything that happens to her. Notice as he says this, she's squinting. Maybe with her eyes closed and him standing so close and talking to her, she only thinks something is touching her nose briefly. When he walks away, she stops squinting. Then he simply goes over to the other girl and touches her on the bridge of her nose where he knows the first girl felt a sensation. Then he tells the first girl to open her eyes and lets the girls do the rest.

Just my take. Anyone wanna try?

Great trick, sounds like a possible explanation diggi, I may try this with some girls in work tomorrow if I get the chance, act exactly like I know what I am doing and just hope for the best lol. If it fails I'll just blame them for doing something wrong.

Well this is an old trick... Derren Brown use it with some girls...

NOW HERE IS HOW YOU DO IT !!

There is a longer version to maximize the effect, but I'm keeping it short (If someone DO need the long version let me know)

What it looks like:

You say your going to touch one of them (or as Derren, you say your not going to touch them) and you perform the trick and the subject believes you touch them and the audience is shock because they never saw you touching the subject...

What really happens:

When you approach your target you say:

"Ok get ready, close your eyes and I want you to feel if I touch you"

THE KEY: When you say that... you actually touch the subject after she closed her eyes and you perform the touch in the place you want ...


You turn around and touch the other subject and then you ask ... Open your eyes ... Did you felt anything...


OMG I felt you touch me right here !!! Surprise !!!


There you go guys,... please don't share the secret... hahaha

Yeh I seen the Derren Brown vid a couple of times.

I don't get this though "When you say that... you actually touch the subject after she closed her eyes". Could you possibly PM me the long version? I don't quite get the short version lol.

Look close in the sec 50, he touch the girl in the nose... watch closely the index finger in the sec 50 ...

In the first video... he makes some fluff talk and make the girls hold their hands... then he move the target to the right side and he tells something like:

"Close your eyes and tell me everything you feel" At that time he uses his index finger to touch the nose of the girl... than he turns around and touch the other girl nose with her eyes open ... then he asks the target if she felt anything and surprise she felt someone touching his nose (at sec 50) and the other girl is amazed because she was touched in the same place... and she can swear the magician didn't touched the target... (well she didn't noticed, and that is because the magician was standing infornt of the target and she couldn't see that quick movement.

i thought he wrapped a thin piece of string between his 2 index fingers while his hands wer down (back turned to open eyed girl/ facing closed eye girl) and then ran that down the girls nose. try it...it feels the same as a touch of a finger. then again xfman is usually spot on and his theory seems more sensible - i just couldn't him touch her with his finger in the vid.
