But I wanted to discuss the psychology at play here.

There's some obvious things:

1) This is day game, girls are low energy, alone, mostly bored with their bitch shields down.

2) The bravado of such a direct opener is clearly attractive.

3) Implied false time constraint. The implication here is that the guy has to go, which is why he's getting a number and that's all.

Now the slightly more complicated bit.

4) In most of these approaches, the guys turn away from the girl almost immediately after handing her the phone. In these, this is because the girl is unsure and gives them a verbal/non-verbal IOD. Turning away takes away the "creep" factor. And says "I'm not going to call you 24/7".

4a) On the first girl, watch her body language. She turns in to face him. She's clearly attracted to him before he even says "Hi". In this case, he doesn't turn around until she's putting in the number. This has the non-creep factor from 4) but also people *hate* being watched doing tasks. Have you ever noticed that your typing ability goes to shit if someone is watching over your shoulder? This is pure comfort building.

4b) Same with the water bottle. It says "I'm busy doing my own thing, take your time".


5) What I can't work out is the sunglasses. Any thoughts on this? Eye contact is incredibly powerful in game. Making eye contact with the girl prior to approaching would mean you could filter the girls and only go for warm approaches. Hiding the eyes surely makes you look less trustworthy? I really am at a loss to explain the sunglasses. And they must be tactical, both guys are wearing them and it's not particularly sunny.

Almost all of these girls will be flakes and fake numbers but still, it's impressive. Again, it's not going to work in most scenarios and it's a rather pointless pickup compared with traditional approach/attract/comfort/close methods which are less likely to flake... but the psychology here is golden.

Any thoughts on the sunglasses?

I can't imagine the sunglasses would do him much good. It does create a somewhat mysterious look and allows the man to reward the girl's compliance by removing them and giving her eye-contact. But during a daytime approach like this where he is asking for a phone number on the approach, it's more useful to appear friendly and non-dangerous than it is to look cool.
Regardless, this video isn't of that much value. What he is doing is ballsy and brave and perhaps even somewhat attractive, but like you said almost all the numbers will likely be flakes or fakes. Flash game like this is usually put out there to shock and awe new guys into thinking "Wow these pickup artist master guys can do anything!" or get any girl or whatever.

Is there any data on how many of these girls actually picked up/gave real numbers? Also what was the ratio of girls that shot you down to the girls that accepted? Not that I don't believe this will work, I'm just trying to filter out some of the bullshit. If he sat in that park for 3 weeks to get a 3 minute video, and none of these girls picked up I will be a little more skeptical.

Seriously, go out a set should not be 2 mins, it should be 10x that. Enough said.

it's real socially awkward what he's doing, and the ones agreeing definitely aren't the top caliber in physical appearance on the campus except maybe the one sitting at the pic nic table. It kind of looks like some of these girls particularly her, might sense he's nervous, or a beginner, and they are just throwing him a bone to build his confidence.

I suppose his goal is to get to a point in the convo to raise the sunglasses and show his eyes but I don't know.
I get the impression that the guy is slightly awkward emotionally connecting with women but surviving on his looks.

My personal results with it: 2 out of 5 girls gave me their number. One those two was underage and crazy. Other was cute but nothing ever came of it. My advice, use this as a social warmup. Use it to get in set and your first Number/blowoff of the night and just have fun with it. Numbers are worthless anyways without a connection.
