I watched the first few minutes of that video and it seems rather interesting even though I know the basics, practice makes perfect

I couldn't say that any better myself.
I think its around 10-15% of communication is done with actual words.
The remaining 85-90% is done through body language.
Its for this reason you can talk about something as mundane as the weather and still hold a HB's interest if your body language is good.
On another note, that is a reason I hate using text messages because it’s easy for the recipient to take a joke or a statement out of context.
I try to make a phone call if I can't see them in person, at least that way you have the tonality of their voice to gauge and indicate on how they are feeling.
