I've recently been getting in to Eckhart Tolle and love some of the concepts he teaches but seeing as I come from a scientific background I don't buy in to his spirituality rubbish that pads out his work. I've been trying to find someone to explain his concepts from a neuroscience or evolutionary biology perspective and thought this video was excellent, even though its not quite Tolle related. If anyone else has anything like this it would be appreciated.
p.s im not sure if I've posted the vid up properly by pasting the link in
The fact of the matter is, if you get to the root of Ekhart Tolle's writings. It is simplicity, living in the moment, and not stressing about past or present ( something we have absolutely no control over) Whether or not it is spiritual, is irrelevant.
Stress has been proven to have a deep physiological effect on all creatures, in particular humans. State of mind, is everything. One's perception comes from their state of mind. If you eliminate stress, you eliminate damage to your body/mind. It is widely known that stress is a key contributor to many many illnesses.
By eliminating random thought and anxiety due to stress, you will eliminate the physiological need for that specific chemical release. You can allow your mind to work within it's full potential. Instead of having hard wired reactions based on specific neuro-patterns developed from stress. ( negative neuro-links)
You will have room to create positive neuro-links. In turn creating a healthier body/mind/soul.
