This is my first time posting here - looking for some advice.

There is this girl working at the local bookstore (HB7), she's a little overwieght, but has a real pretty face, seems real sweet. Last time I was in there, I tried to have a conversation with her, talked about my favorite writer, different books I read. Nothing real flirty or anything, I was just trying to be conversational. But she would not go off script, she just kept trying to sell me on the coupons and reward card upgrades and whatnot, didnt give off any IOI's (but like I said, I wasnt flirting either). Anybody have any ideas on how I should proceed next time I go in?

Well, I finally grew a set and approached this girl again. I walked up to her at the bookstore and asked her if they had any books on telepathy or ESP. I was gonna try to do the mind reading routine on her. She pointed my to the new age section and walked away before I could try to show her my stuff - should have planned this out a little better. I had to improvise, so I found a book in that section called "You Are Psychic" and walked back up to her and did the routine as if I was reading it out of the book. 1st, I had her pick a # between 1 & 4, then 1 & 10. The PUA's answers to these, are of course, 3 and 7 respectively. She picked different #'s both times (2 & 6), but she did admit that 3 and 7 were her 1st choices - so I had her intrigued.

I asked her her name, she told me. We talked back and forth for a couple of minutes about random stuff. I was running out of things to talk about, so I threw in a false time constraint and told her I had to leave, but asked if we could continue this conversation later. She said she had a BF and blah blah blah. She was really sweet and apologetic about it. (If I thought of it at the time, I would have asked her if her boyfriend was her "1st choice") Then I said that it was nice talking to her anyway, we shook hands and I left.

I was more dissapointed in my performance than I was about the rejection. I stuttered a couple of times, my voice was kinda shakey and uneven I was so nervous (this was the first woman I've actually "approached" in 5 YEARS!). But still, I walked away feeling like a champion! I conquered my fear! I'm actually looking forward to trying this again - but most likely with someone else.
