Hey all,

The name is Dan, I'm 21 from a small village near(ish) London but originally from Ireland and have lost all of my accent.

I am a music specialist primary school teacher (though my degree was in natural sciences), and a bloke and quite young still, I know it's not too common. I am interested in most stuff to be honest.

I'm quite confident generally, breaking the ice is something I find difficult but once in a conversation I have few problems. My main issue is that girls don't seem to think of me as datable material. I have a lot of female friends and have little trouble making more but get the "you're so sweet" SPAM and that I am "a great friend [but nowt more]". I like being a good friend but sometimes it would be nice to qualify for something more rather than agony uncle for female friends...!

I'm not a "lad", despite the alter-ego I've been given by friends "because it's ironic". Sometimes I wonder whether I should re-train and become welder or something...
