I've been studying pickup for 2 years and not enough action.
My biggest barrier is thinking I need a wingman.
I know that going out solo isn't ideal.
I've went out solo several times, but I ended up just standing by the bar.
Self motivation is fucking hard!
But I really believe going out solo you will develop massive self respect afterwards.

Anyway, I have an idea. Why don't we come up with a group of guys (like 5 guys, who are scared to go out). What we will do is go out every week and then report back to this thread with our summary/report. The point isn't necessarily to share what works or doesn't (although it can be), since there is already a lot of material out there on that. More importantly, it's about feeling like a part of a tribe, devoting yourself to higher purpose (the group), and feeling like you got others there with you (in mind, not in body) who are newbies just as you and getting themselves embarrassed just like you. Back in the days of Mystery and Tyler Durden, this is the same sort of thing they did on old forums - this is how the community got started.

Anyway, after driving myself mad studying this for 2 years, here is what I've found:

A. The game is learned in STEPS
B. As a newbie, you're only criteria for success should be : "did I have fun?" You're not going out to "pick up chicks", "get makeouts", "get numbers", or "hit on girls". Fuck that shit! Leave that stuff alone for now. Girls are out to have fun...AND SO SHOULD YOU.
C. Game is mostly about vibing. Vibing is when the conversation gets free flowing and not about anything in particular. Ever wonder why the biggest problem is "I don't know what to say?" Remember, "did I have fun?" Practice vibing. Don't descend down into serious mode, where you're taking the surface conversation at face value.

Who wants to do this!

Here in my city, there's not a lot of people who are interested in this pick up thing. That is why I made this thread. For those of us who can't find wings and are new at this, we can use the thread I made as motivation to go out and post our results. That way, there will be more structure to us going out. It will give us a reason to go out so that we can post to each other about it. And over time, we will see the progression of our transformation.

Basically, the problem when we go out alone is that we feel we're being judged. If you treat it like a mission, or homework, then it takes that ego factor out of it. You can blame the homework for going out.

Georgia, USA. But like I said, I've moved past looking for wingmen. Really. You (I) got to.

I thought this thread was a great solution to that issue. Seeing that this thread didn't explode like I thought it would, I realize most people just don't want change. I'm ready to move on from this, too, and just do this by myself. Time is urgent. Can't wait for people.
