29 year old, 100% AFC, irvine, california. some of my hobbies and interests include tennis, basketball, anime/manga, snowboarding and shrooms. i've been in a serious relationship for the last 8 years. after coming out of it, i painfully realized i had no idea how to talk to or attract women outside of a friendship and women can sense this. i've had 1 date, 0 fucks and 0 kisses in the last 10 months. i've gotten comments such as "you're such a nice guy" and it makes me sick to the stomach. ffs i'm a virgin all over again! a friend of mine recommended the book "the game" by neil strauss, God bless your soul neil! and from there i started reading "double your dating" by david deangelo, another great book so far. my eyes have been opened but my body and mind are a lot slower reacting to the knowledge i've been acquiring. i've mostly been focusing on negging and trying to add value, but i have no idea how to approach the latter skill in a consistent effective manner yet. i joined this site to further reinforce what i've been reading and to hopefully get some feedback and advice on future sarges and sets. i'm eternally grateful to be here. i hope to one day be my own hero but for now i have all of you to look up to.

Ease back on the negging until you get other fundamentals down - negging isn't necessary in 99.9% of the time.

As far as adding value to the girls, just you going up to them during their boring-as-fuck day they are having and paying a little attention to them is making their day and adding value.

hey thx oceanx! assuming my game is inadequate all around, what are some of the fundamentals that you would suggest focusing on?

1) Feeling a huge amount of excitement and positive anticipation as it relates to the future i.e. having confidence.

2) Keeping fapping/drinking alcohol to an acceptable minimum. The first is so you have the motivation to get with girls, the second is so you have as clear of a head as possible when speaking with them.

3) Get used to shooting the shit with all people. Get into a good flow for the day/night by doing just that. Then when you see a cute girl, speak to her as well. Behave around her in the same way you would behave with a woman you were regularly seeing, in a classy lovers vibe not a friends vibe.

Basic structure for the approach: Comment to her on something going on in the immediate area; maybe you notice she's cute while talking and you comment to her about that; exchange some personal info about eachother i.e. where you two work or what you like to do or whatever; "hey i gotta run and do X but let's continue this sometime, what's your #."

YOU are the prize and you know it. You are talking to her in a non-arrogant way and you are seeing if she is cool enough to chill with you.

Notice I didn't mention any "pua" tactics. With the above in place you're on your way.

yes i did notice. Could it be that game is useless and ineffectve without the right character, poise and positive mindset? Regardless great advice in general. I think those are solid foundations to build my game on. Thx oceanx

I would argue that this is a true statement. When guys focus solely on implementing pua tactics, often the end result is a largely uncalibrated gamey individual, in general.

However you still need something of a "format" for your interactions. What I posted above is a basic framework to consider.

Also, with regard to the pua lingo & techniques, once you have a solid foundation in place in terms of how you feel about yourself and the value you are bringing into their lives, you can cherrypick and test the various pua techniques you feel you could fit within the structure of your interactions with women. Another nice thing about the pua methods is that they get a lot of guys into the game to try SOMETHING rather than sitting on the sidelines.

The Game is an amazing book though it is out dated because it was published almost 10 years ago there are better methods now. i'm sure you will find your way just dont give up
