So I was seeing this girl - first date went well, i knew as soon as she gave me that look she really fancied me and got her back to mine but she was a bit drunk so didn't do anything.

Went on another date - went well again, came back to mine - still didn't shag her tho

Then I went away for a month for work and she was texting me every day (hey in the morning and all that) so really keen and to be honest, I like playing it cool so stepped back a bit and replied to her texts a bit late etc. She was always telling me how she missed me and needed me to come back home and we need to do something when I get back.

When I come back from being away I ask her out, she pars me off for her friends and then goes away for work herself for a week. Still texting me every day whilst she's away telling me we need to do something when she gets back (hey every morning etc.)

Then she comes back from being away and asks if I'm going out one night I say I am and funnily enough we're going to the same place.. see her out with her mates and got on with them well which i could tell she was quite impressed about. Didn't come back to mine this time.

After this she is still texting me every day (STILL hey nearly every morning - never me texting her first) but still can't get her to come out with me like on a date - so as the texting goes on throughout the day, I text her asking her out again and she says she'll let me know as she has a lot on in the week. I know just a nice way of saying no so ignore her from then on and yet still she's texting me every day wanting to talk to me but doesn't want to go out with me again (hasn't actually told me that tho). I've tried ignoring her, which works as she notices somethings up with my texts being a bit blunt.

What's the deal with this girl, is she just mental and I should leave it and go looking elsewhere?? I like her and she clearly likes me (with the texting and interest every day) but feel I can't ask her out again as she'll just come up with an excuse not to see me. I've tried ignoring her as so to leave it to her to ask me out but hasn't worked. Just to note, when we did see each other before I went away, i was one who asked her out first and she asked me out the other times but hasn't since.

How should I play it?

She gave you two opportunities, and you didn't do anything. Perhaps she thinks you are intellectual or developmentally disabled, worse than friend zoned, you are acquaintance zoned.
