My sex life has recently gone downhill. And I'm at the point in my life (21 years old) that I dont want any serious girlfriends for the time being, instead I would prefer going on dates, picking up women at bars etc.
I've slept with 6 girls, 3 of which were girlfriends and 3 who we're on nights stands, but recently I think women can smell my desperation for a shag and stay well clear.
I'm halfway through The Game and finding it fascinating, however I feel like some of the methods used aren't right for me.
I feel pretty confident talking to girls and in my appearance. I'm by no means a natural, but I'm certainly not socially retarded and completely clueless when it comes to women.

I would like to know if there are any methods that build on the limited skill that I possess. Potentially something more natural rather than manipulation and fabricated stories?
I will be interested to hear your suggestions.

I can relate very well to your story. My early twenties were very similar (im 28 now).
What I learned from my experience around clubs, bars and public gatherings is that first of all you should be very much aware of your surroundings. What I mean is, lets take for example my country Malta, we have different clubs on the island. Some are very posh and for older folks, some other are a bit more relaxed, some are just full of locals and others just foreigners. Each and every place needs a different approach or mindset.

The best methods I found are :

Mysterys for the psychology of pickup
Gamblers (Richard LaRuina) for the actual infield techniques.

Still, try anything you feel comfy with and you will find your own style I guess.

I have read the game and found that it hurt me more than anything. Times have changed and the literal things in that book are too calculated for me, personally. Great book if you only focus on the underlying concepts and keep an awareness of what Strauss is referring too.

I hear of a LOT of guys like this. It sucks. I never read the Game cover to cover. The parts I read were because it is a good story. Not because it helps Game or is a manual. But hey, it is what got us all here, right?

No Method is the best. Anything can and will work if you make it. That is the secret about every Method under the sun. Some may get you results quicker, but in the long run to fix the problems it gives you takes as much time as every other method.

If it works with your personality and you are happy with yourself, use the Method. If you dislike yourself, fix your problems before trying to find something that will get you laid.
